Chapter one ” Jesse Abundis thoughts”

I’ve looked at the first chapter as the prologue to the Novel, it sets the reader up as to what to expect in the coming chapters. And coming into the first chapter I didn’t want the focus on Bruce Wanye, we’re going to know more about him these next chapters. I wanted the light to be on Alberto Falcone, a character that I enjoyed creating and putting on to paper. He was a toss up character in the early stages, but when I read the Long Halloween for a second time, he’s such a emotionally driven character, far different from the rest.

Harvey Dent was someone I debated on even making him a possible character for the first chapter, I kept wondering if it was too soon to put him in. The thing I like about Dent in this chapter is that he’s human. He isn’t going out there poking a dumb in the mob’s eye, because he’s not even sure he can do it. He has the tough guy look, but inside him there’s so much doubt and fear on what his actions could bring. That I fell smitten with him.

Dent is the boy scout, he hasn’t taken the taste, he’s the saint of the city. Even though he knows he’s working in broken and corrupt city. Not of that bothers him, it’s just the way of life. He”s the advocate whose been yelling for change, but how could he with a broken system. Now that he has the chance for change, he knows they might end up putting a bullet between his eyes to shut him up, which makes his dream come true to his worst nightmare. But he keeps pushing on, without much choice.

Gilda won my heart, she’s a special gal. You know there’s so much to her, her mere presents lightens up the tension in Gotham. She’s a tough girl whose in love with the man in charge of making things right in the city and that’s killing her inside. but she puts on a brave soul, to keep him from worrying.

Gilda wasn’t going to be a focus, but one night I sat down and looked how important she was, without her this Novel would be emotionless. I”m really glad I went with it.

I always this question in the back of my head, should I have added more? But, this is the way I wanted to bring the first chapter to you the reader. I hope you guys enjoyed it, and the second chapter will be out this April.
